  'England Preseves' condiments are the perfect accompaniment to a stylish Art Deco breakfast. 

 The artisan jams that 'England Preseves' make are locally sourced and hand made in Bermondsey. The company began in 2001, and the jams have made their way from the local farmers market to gourmet menus. I love the Art Deco design labels.

 They help make a quintessentially English and luxurious jam on toast -perfect for a quick Sunday breakfast.

Bathroom Interior : Modern French Vintage

Bathroom Style

 I've just finished decorating the bathroom. I wanted to keep the look modern, but still calm, fresh and quirky.  I've called this style 'Modern French Vintage'.

 Originally inspired by the bathroom at 'Majeka House' in South Africa, and then further by the clean, modern vintage look seen in hotels like '20 Degree Sud' in Mauritius and 'The Jalousie Plantation' in St.Lucia.

A new trend in interiors; 'tones of copper'
I love the idea of a simple, fresh, white based room with accents of copper - from a industrial style copper pendant light, to a little candle in the corner. The copper ikat fabric could make interesting lighting effects when used as a blind.

Tea Tuesday : (Well, Coffee today...)

Coffee : Poker Chips Espresso set

 A change from the normal 'Tea Tuesday', today it's coffee. An Espresso in a Poker Chip set that I purchased in a beautiful interiors boutique in Mauritius.

 The set is by 'Bruno Evrard Création', a French family company specializing in the creation of 'arts of the table'.

Bistro Tea & Coalport China

 I spotted this beautiful Edwardian Coalport tea set in the William Weston Gallery in Royal Arcade, Old Bond Street.
 I love the bold black and white stripes against the delicate flowers - the emerging Art Deco style, against traditional Edwardian details.

 Set of six Edwardian decorated tea cups and saucers. Made by Coalport and with their mark underneath, and also the old Harrods mark which is where they were originally sold. c.1905/1920's.

 I first discovered Bistro Tea whilst staying at Majeka House, in South Africa. The simple, effective packaging doubles as a new smart tea bag design.

 As stated by Bistro Tea, this newly designed tea stick enables proper dosage without wastage, it does not drip, neither does it need wringing. It is also a well designed stirrer.

 They do great tea blends: Fruit Berry, Red Tea, Herbs n' Honey, Green Tea & Black Tea.

Tea Tuesday : Dilmah tea

Dilmah Tea & Kilner Jars

 I purchased some new Kilner Jars, these are great, British produced glass jars original invented in the 1840's. The traditional design of the Kilner Jar may have changed over the years but the principle of the family business has stayed the same right through to modern day.

 The airtight glass jars are ideal for storing tea. I had some new Dilmah tea bags to store, so the large jar was ideal. I first discovered Dilmah tea whilst staying at The Baros, Maldives.

 Dilmah tea is still true to it's Sri Lanka family business routes, and is the antidote to mult-origin blends now the norm in the UK. Dilmah remain faithful to Ceylon tea produced in the traditional way, perfected over centuries.

 I love the simplicity of the Dilmah tea packaging and their colourful wrappers, they complement the Kilner jars perfectly, making them look ultra modern.

 I also love the pairing of two family run businesses that have grown massively whilst still retaining their original values.

Veuve Clicquot Sardine

Veuve Clicquot Ponsardin Brut Champagne has been renamed and rebranded in this special edition gift set:
'Veuve Clicquot Ponsardine'

 Packaged in witty Veuve Clicquot Sardine tins, complete with ring pull opening.

 The name is a clever play on the Champagne house's history: The champagne gained popularity when Barbe Nicole Ponsardin, the widow of Francois Clicquot, took over the champagne house. Ponsardin's father liked the association with his family name and the fish so much, that he included a sardine jumping over a bridge in his coat of arms...

 This display of bottles and tins are in another giant Sardine tin.

Bedroom Interior : Wall Art

Adding a new twist to my recently decorated bedroom.

On the back wall the aqua duck egg blue color is used as a highlight against cool coloured metallics; featured in the Biba wallpaper and silver grey velvet quilted throw and cushion.

 The opposite wall is painted a dark French grey colour. To add interest and depth I created some wall art to break the plain wall up, and to give a modern quirky vintage feel.
 An ornate frame around a chrome Antelope bust, and two vintage cherubs painted the same French grey as the wall.

 I just bought this in a great wine shop in France. I've always found that when I open a bottle of white, the wine I drink the next day always tastes better.
 So, I started to open a bottle, and then leave it to drink the next day - not the easiest way to enjoy wine when sometimes you just want to open a bottle and drink it...

 This stylish designed Carafe will aerate and cool the wine ready for immediate enjoyment.

The cool stick is stored in the freezer, the wine poured into the Carafe via a special 'aerate' attachment, the cool stick inserted into the carafe to keep the wine cool...

 

...then ready to drink white wine is ready to be poured into your glass.

Needless to say I tested straight away, and it certainly works.

 Newly finished bedroom. The finishing touches have just been put up - Deco style Parisian scene prints.
 The aim was to keep the bedroom feeling fresh, clean and calm, but also stylish.
 The aqua duck egg blue color is used as a highlight against cool coloured metallics; featured in the Biba wallpaper and silver grey velvet quilted throw and cushion.
 The black lamps and frames, along with the grey illustrative bicycle conversational add a masculine touch.
